This guide gives you a one-process worksheet. Pick one workflow, map it on one page, then use it to test a live demo or request the free automation audit with complete information.
Pick one workflow, not the whole restaurant
Choose a process with a clear start and end. Good first choices are: delivery order from storefront to door, table reservation to seating, or counter order to kitchen to pickup.
Write it as: When [trigger], we do [steps], so [outcome], owned by [role]. Example — hypothetical: When a customer orders delivery on Friday night, we confirm, fire, pack and dispatch in under 35 minutes, owned by the shift lead.
Do not map catering, dine-in, delivery and loyalty at once. One workflow mapped well is ready to scope. Five mapped vaguely are not.

The one-page worksheet
Copy this table for your chosen workflow. Keep answers short and specific to one location and one shift.
- Inputs: What must be true to start? Menu and prices current, delivery zones and fees set, payment methods enabled, KDS/printers online, staff roles assigned.
- Steps and decisions: List 5–8 steps in order. Mark every decision with who decides. Example — hypothetical single-brand Friday dinner: 1) Customer checkout, 2) Auto-confirm if in zone and in stock, else hold for review, 3) Fire to KDS by station, 4) Pack check, 5) Assign driver, 6) Dispatch and notify customer.
- Handoff: Who owns each handoff and where is it recorded? Storefront to kitchen in POS/KDS, kitchen to pack in KDS bump, pack to driver in delivery app. If ownership is “whoever is free,” write that down — that is the risk.
- Failure cases: For each step, write: what fails, how you detect it, and the fallback. Card declined, item out of stock, zone mismatch, KDS offline, no driver available. Define whether the order holds, refunds, reroutes, or switches to cash on delivery where supported.
- Evidence to bring: Current menu export, zone map and fees, payment providers and supported access, branch list, devices used, peak volumes for one recent week. Do not include customer personal data.

Hypothetical example — Friday delivery, filled in
This is a hypothetical illustration only, not a customer story and not a results claim.
A two-branch burger operator maps only website delivery, 18:00–22:00, Branch A. Inputs: 28 items, 2 delivery zones, Stripe plus cash on delivery, one KDS screen, two drivers. Decision rule: orders outside the zone do not auto-confirm; shift lead offers pickup or cancels. Handoff: kitchen bumps in KDS, pack scans ticket, driver accepts in app. Failures: if KDS goes offline, switch to printed tickets; if no driver in 7 minutes, pause new checkouts for Zone 2 and notify waitlist. Completion is an order delivered with payment reconciled, not just a checkout created.
This level of detail is what makes a demo test useful. Open a live sandbox and replay the same five failures, not just the happy path.

Test it in a live demo
Foodelopers maintains three functional sandboxes. Each demo is a functional sandbox — not a screenshot — for inspecting ordering, administration, and restaurant workflows:
- Forkit for multi-restaurant delivery: storefront, restaurant panel, admin, delivery-man app, zones, coupons, wallet and Stripe/MercadoPago checkout.
- Plateform for single-brand chains: admin and branch management, customer app/web, delivery-man app, table ordering and POS.
- Orderly for restaurant management SaaS: tables and reservations, KDS, POS, kiosk, inventory, staff scheduling and subscriptions.
Use your one-page map to click through: place the test order, change the zone, apply a coupon, mark an item out of stock, and watch where the order holds.
Bring the map to the free audit
When you send the map through the free automation audit, include: workflow sentence, worksheet table, systems in use, locations, and decision boundaries. The first reply focuses on feasibility, scope, and the right delivery path.
Send: current workflow, systems, locations, and who can approve exceptions. Keep it to one workflow and one location to get a scoped answer.
No savings, timing, or approval promise is made. Scope depends on current systems and project evidence.
